About our Shutters
Bespoke Shutters supply and install a full range of interior shutters including plantation shutters and solid shutters which can be selected in natural wood (natural wood shutters) or painted (painted shutters).
Natural wooden shutters
Natural wooden shutters add a modern, contemporary feel to any home interior. If you have some tired old net curtains or drapes up at your windows, why not replace them with some up to the minute, contemporary designed natural wooden shutters. The clean, straight lines of the shutters lend a stylish finish to a window treatment that will compliment your home adding to its kerbside appeal and saleability.
We offer a tailor made service that will ensure your natural wooden shutters fit your window apertures perfectly and, such is the timeless appeal of our window shutters, that they will never look outdated. Our natural wood shutters are made using rich, dark cedar wood, which is especially attractive due to its wonderfully even grain and warm natural colour.

Plantation shutters are shutters which are fitted with louvres or slats. These louvres can be rotated through 180 degrees to regulate the amount of light allowed to pass through them. Plantation shutters come in 3 distinct styles. They either come as full height plantation shutters, spanning the full height of the window aperture, tier on tier plantation shutters or café style plantation shutters. Tier on tier plantation shutters cover the full height of the window aperture again but they are split into the top half and bottom half, each one working independently of the other. In this way, the top half can be opened while the bottom half remains closed or vice versa. Café style shutters only cover the bottom half of the window, allowing light to stream in trough the top. This style of shutter is said to have been invented to give young Parisians privacy as they lunched together on the Champs-Elysees.

Solid shutters have their beginnings in far more inhospitable places. They were created initially to keep out the sun but also to protect houses and home owners from the detritus thrown up by dust storms and the like. Here, the closest we get to a dust storm and flying debris is a high wind in autumn, but solid shutters still are very useful to provide additional security – particularly in properties which may be left for a while. Solid shutters also have their roots in period houses and many of these are being refurbished these days with owners wanting to reinstate the former grandeur of these magnificent buildings Solid Shutters – click here to browse our range of products.
